President’s Message To the Members: State funding for the Farm Park has been cut for 2010 and the situation doesn’t look any better for 2011. Therefore, we, who love and use the Park, need to help out. There are two current FPPA projects to help you accomplish this. One project is involves Adopting a Trail and Keeping It Clean. The second project entails Weeding, Mulching and Planting at the Visitor Center, around the Heritage Trees bordering Upper Farm Road and in the Monarch Butterfly Garden and Vernal Pond area. Please see page 3 for the details. It is time to help in any way you can to keep OUR Park beautiful. While you are walking along the footpaths, you might see one of our many Blue Bird monitors. Stop and ask them how many eggs they have seen and perhaps they might show you some. For more information, email us at FPPAssociation@aol.com. Don’t forget that the Summer concerts start in June and are held on Saturday nights at the Pavilions from 6-7:30 PM. Bring dinner, sit and listen to the music, let the kids dance. Great family fun. Check page 2 for dates. I look forward to seeing you in the Park. Have a Great Summer! Tina Howell, President |
