Bluebird Trail Project 2008 Season

Our seventh season for the Bluebird Trail Project will kick off with the annual organizational meeting on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 AM at the Visitor’s Center At this meeting, we usually plan for the coming season and determine which trails need re-working, which birdhouses need repair or replacement and set up meeting dates to accomplish these things.

At the end of the 2007 season, we knew that many of our bluebird houses were in poor shape and needed repairs or replacement.  The labels on the boxes were becoming tattered.  Our team of repair volunteers has been busy trying to finish all the repairs and replacements of boxes and labels before the season starts this year!  As usual, we will have an update on the bird flu threat.

This meeting is one of the few times when you all can discuss your experiences with your fellow monitors in person instead of through emails – so please try and make it!  This year we have two new volunteers:  Marybeth Smith will monitor the Doctor’s House Trail and Timieka Mezaris will cover the Meadow Trail.  For anyone who is interested in participating, please come to the meeting or contact me at diana.cassel@comcast.net.  No experience necessary!
